Recycling the 2" square steel tube from my chassis jig for Project Supernugget, I designed and built this extremely rugged workshop table. It uses half of a 4'x8' sheet of plywood, which is cheap and easily replaceable - you don't worry about the consequences of driling through your workpiece. Weight capacity is likely over 1,000 pounds... as long as it's well distributed.
The lower frame has one open side to maximize storage space underneath, and also aids in clearance when rolling around stuff on the ground. The vise mounting plate was CNC plasma cut to the exact dimensions of the footprint. Overkill for a Harbor Freight vise? Maybe, but it looks great and never gets in the way.
Same metal, different structure...Â
Still holding up the same chassis.
